What’s on a Climate Challenge card?

Every Climate Challenge card is built to do two things at once: help you play and help you learn.

Real-world climate actions

Cards feature practical actions players can recognise—changes people can make at home, at school, or in their community. That might include cutting energy use, reducing waste, or choosing smarter transport.

Three easy scores

Each card includes three scores so players can compare options quickly:

Effectiveness
How much this action can reduce carbon emissions or climate impact overall.

Affordability
How budget-friendly the action is—helpful for discussing what’s realistic for different families or schools.

Ease
How simple it is to start and maintain the action in daily life.

Why the scoring system matters

Climate education often gets stuck at “what’s bad.” Climate Challenge focuses on what works, and makes it easy to talk about:

  • What matters most (impact)
  • What people can afford (cost)
  • What people can stick to (habit)

This encourages problem-solving and keeps the conversation positive: small steps + smart choices = real change.
